425 Park Avenue – The first full-block office building on Park Avenue in over 50 years

Standing at almost 900 feet tall and taking up an entire block between 55th and 56th Streets, the newly completed 425 Park Avenue is a product of the remarkable skill, resilience, and craftsmanship of union contractors and the New York City District Council of Carpenters. The building will provide 667,000 square feet of office space with a new restaurant on the ground floor, and 85% of the tower’s office space has been leased by leaders of industry in tech and finance. The anchor tenant, Citadel, will occupy 415,000 square feet across 20 floors. Congratulations to the over three dozen union contractors that took part in building New York City’s new iconic office tower.

Building the Modern Workplace at 4 World Trade Center

As companies rethink the workplace to attract and retain talent, the quality of the space matters as much as its location. At 4 World Trade Center, union contractors and carpenters with the New York City District Council of Carpenters are modernizing multiple floors of Spotify’s New York headquarters.

Their work includes interior systems, acoustical ceilings, premium floor coverings, finish carpentry, furniture installation, and specialty spaces throughout the headquarters, including a karaoke room and green room.

Modernizing office space at this scale requires careful planning, coordination among multiple trades, skilled craftsmanship, and accountability. That’s why companies continue to rely on union carpenters and contractors to build the high performance workplaces where New York business happens.

1251 Avenue of the Americas Undergoes $100 Million Modernization

Great office buildings never stand still. To remain competitive, New York’s premier office towers must continually evolve to meet the changing expectations of tenants. At 1251 Avenue of the Americas, union contractors and carpenters with the New York City District Council of Carpenters are transforming the 54 story Rockefeller Center office tower as part of a $100 million modernization. The project is creating updated workspaces, modern amenities, and enhanced environments designed to attract and retain leading companies while ensuring the building remains competitive for decades to come.

Their work includes interior commercial systems, acoustical ceilings, floor coverings, finish carpentry, furniture installation, selective demolition, and tenant fit outs throughout the building, all while the Class A office tower remains occupied.

Modernizing occupied office towers takes more than skilled craftsmanship. It takes the planning, coordination, and accountability that union carpenters and contractors bring to every project.

Precision Carpentry Across 30 Floors at 601 Lex

At 601 Lexington Avenue, union contractors and carpenters with the New York City District Council of Carpenters built the interior renovation for Kirkland & Ellis across floors 30 through 59.

Working within an active law firm environment, union contractors and carpenters executed a phased, multi-floor buildout that required tight coordination and disciplined scheduling to maintain daily operations. The scope included flooring installation, acoustical ceiling systems, architectural millwork, furniture and office systems installation, doors and hardware, window treatments, architectural metal, and access scaffolding.

The result is a fully modernized, durable workspace built with precision and attention to detail—interiors designed to perform at the highest level in Midtown’s competitive Class A office market.
