The Battery Coastal Resilience project is taking shape, thanks to union contractors and carpenters with the New York City District Council of Carpenters. This critical effort will protect and revitalize The Battery, a historic 25-acre park located at the tip of Manhattan, in response to the growing threats of climate change and rising sea levels. The project features a newly constructed seawall, a pile-supported waterfront esplanade, drainage improvements, and sustainable design elements. Union Carpentry Drives Pier 42 Revitalization

Pier 42, located on the Lower East Side, officially opened its recreational facilities. The waterfront park, once an abandoned industrial building and parking lot, has been revitalized with renovated pier supports, dock, and turf.
